Yeah this is definitely making the rounds. The problem is that it presents this cynical attitude that Arlington is nothing but young, rich yuppies living on the Orange Line who don't know shit about their community, don't really care, and are afraid of black people. And, on top of that, it treats Arlington as a homogenized consumer society (ie the Starbucks part).
Problem is, and I've especially learned this over the last six months, that's nothing like what Arlington really is.
There's a fine line between laughing AT Arlington and laughing WITH Arlington. I think they did a good job of doing the latter. I mean, whether we like it or not, there ARE about 23 Starbucks within the borders of Arlington. Just a fact. Might as well have a laugh about it.
