New Site Aims to Make Climate Crisis a Top Issue in '08

I was browsing the Step It Up site and noticed a link to a new site, ClimateVoters.org. Its goal is to make the climate crisis one of the three main issues that decides the 2008 election, alongside jobs and terrorism.

Here in Virginia, we need to make climate change one of the key issues in the 2007 election. Virginia has "no official position" on global warming, and just passed legislation that will allow Dominion Virginia to build new coal-fired power plants. If you see a candidate on the campaign trail this year, you need to ask them why Virginia hasn't taken action on global warming, and what they'd do about it if given another term! Thanks to Lowell at Raising Kaine for his original rant on this article.

Hello Miles,

I thought you would be interested in this diary we posted on Raising Kaine today.

It provides details about tomorrow's rally against Dominion Power in Boston. I'm sure you're aware that Dominion moved its annual shareholders meeting to Boston of all places. My Organization, Virginians for Sensible Energy Policies, is rallying against Dominion's power line proposal and its failed environmental record.

Thanks for the ClimateVoters.org info. I'll help spread the word.
