Most global warming and clean energy humor is chuckle-chuckle amusing but not ha-ha funny. David Letterman is joining this season of Showtime's Years of Living Dangerously and he doesn't do mildly amusing - he does wicked funny:

Jon Stewart Proves Climate Science Deniers Wrong With 3rd Grade Science
In 2014, 26 years after James Hansen first told Congress that global warming is now happening, why is the People's Climate March still necessary? As Jon Stewart explained on last night's Daily Show, because the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space and Technology is run by climate science deniers:

Google: We Never Said Anything About Being Stupid
Google, the company whose motto is "don't be evil," recently hosted a big money fundraiser for Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK), the Senate's climate science denier-in-chief. Watch Andy Cobb take a look at how that might affect Google's search performance, then tell Google to stop funding evil:

Must-Have Holiday Gift for Lovers of Wildlife and Wrestling
A World Wildlife Fund/World Wrestling Federation shirt with a steel chair-wielding panda - and yes, I already bought one:
Though it would be nice if Diehard Threads gave some of the proceeds to wildlife protection, no?

Harp Seals: Lazy?
Harp seals are suffering from the impacts of global warming and you can help preserve their Arctic habitat by supporting limits on industrial carbon pollution.
But a new video asks an important question - are harp seals more interested in cuddling with cute girls than fighting for survival? The Green Miles reports, you decide.

Louis CK: Shouldn't All Christians be Environmentalists?
Continuing the rebuttal to Rick Santorum's contention that God's cool with us destroying the planet, from Louis CK's Live at the Beacon Theater:
His rejection of environmental stewardship only shows the depth of Santorum's cafeteria Catholicism - Pope Benedict XVI himself is a climate activist. There's also the evangelical Creation Care movement, the Jewish Climate Initiative and the Muslim-hosted international conference on climate change.

You're Welcome: Biodegradable Hokies Jello Shots
From a Virginia Tech fan who'd been annoyed that jello shots involved wasting plastic cups:
It's actually quite simple, the magic is mostly in choosing a color scheme. I just halved the oranges and removed their "guts" (to use in OJ later), then put them in muffin tins and poured the jello (half water, half vodka). Next morning I cut them in half again. Then enjoy! For bonus green points, you can compost the rinds:

Heat Wave Humor: This Soup Tastes Salty
Spotted this morning in front of Zola Wine Kitchen on E St NW at 9th:
I'll be heading there for lunch - soup may be a bit heavy today, but the southwestern chicken salad wrap sounds great on a steamy Anthropocene afternoon.
